Whithorn Priory and Museum

Whithorn Priory, in Scotland, is associated with St Ninian, who died around 431 and was buried in his church on the hilltop at Whithorn. Pilgrims came to visit the shrine of the saint until the Reformation in 1560. The traditional processions on Saint Ninian's Day were restored in the 19th century. The Catholic Diocese of Galloway holds a pilgrimage to Saint Ninian's Cave on the last Sunday in August.
