Lough Derg

St Patrick's Purgatory, Lough Derg, survives today as a living remnant of the early Irish Church, with a history going back some fifteen centuries. It is currently situated on an island (Station Island) in the lough in County Donegal, Ireland.

Tyburn Convent

Tyburn Convent in central London is a cloistered community of benedictine contemplatives who live by the ancient monastic Rule of St.Benedict. Tyburn Convent is the home of shrine of the English Reformation Martyrs of Tyburn.

Custodia Terrae Sanctae

Franciscan missionaries serving the Holy Land. Their website states: 'We are a fraternity of the Order of Friars Minor living in the Holy Land, who preserve, study and render the places where the Christian faith originated welcoming and proclaim the marvels of the love of the Most High Almighty and Good Lord who for our sake took on our humanity for the salvation of all people.'

Mount Athos

Mount Athos is the centre of Eastern Christian Orthodox Monasticism. Set in an area of outstanding natural beauty, it is a treasury which houses and guards many artefacts and monuments of religions, national and artistic value.
